This documentation aims to provide the operator of the PSPT instrument a comprehensive reference to the design and operation of the PSPT instrument. The System Overview section gives brief descriptions of the mechanical, optical, electrical, and software design of the instrument. The daily operation of the instrument to obtain the photometric data is described in PSPT Operation . If you are looking for help with operational problems, see the Troubleshooting Section of the Maintenance Manual. PSPT Diagnostics contains some useful diagnostics tools for checking the performance of the instrument. DSP Axis Assignment details the hardware and control characteristics on the DSP for each motion control axis. PC Commands gives detailed listing of the control commands available on the PC control program. Finally, because of the complexities of the PSPT guider design, we attribute a section to describing the design and operation principle of the quad-cell guider system. This is contained in the Guider Design section. |
