Abstract: PREMOS, PREcision MOnitoring of Solar variability, is an experiment on board the French micro-satellite PICARD. Presently, PICARD's launch is scheduled for 2006. The aim of PICARD is to measure simultaneously the solar diameter, differential rotation and solar irradiance. PREMOS is a Swiss contribution to this mission, dedicated to measure the solar irradiance at 4 selected wavelength bands, two in the UV, one in the visible and one in the IR. We present the science aim of PREMOS and the present status of its design.
