Abstract: Since the start of the SoHO mission, EIT -the Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Telescope- offers a global view of the corona over the whole rising phase of the current activity cycle. Such a data series is unprecedented. We present here the current results of an on-going investigation of the entire EIT dataset. In this process, numerous classes of magnetic regions of all sizes as well as dynamical events will be identified in the images. The change in their properties (location, size, topology, lifetime, integrated flux, …) and their mutual relationships can then be monitored over the last five years. We describe image processing techniques developped for this search as well as first results.
